Step by step

Find the tile
Swipe down from the top right. Auto-rotate is on the second row of round tiles on ours.

Tap Auto-rotate to turn it off
The tile goes grey. The screen stays upright.

Tap Auto-rotate to turn it on
The tile lights up again.

Or use Settings
Touch and hold the tile, or open Settings, Display & brightness. The Auto-rotate switch is below Display size.
If you do not see this option
- No tile? Use the switch in Settings, Display & brightness, or add the tile: Quick Settings.
- Search finds it? Searching Settings for rotate found only Auto-rotate under Display & brightness on ours.
If this does not work

About this guide
Auto-rotate turns the screen sideways when you turn the phone.
The screenshots are from our OnePlus Nord 5 with OxygenOS 16.0.5.1201 and Android 16, in Dark mode. The tile was on. We turned it off, then on again. We blurred our Wi-Fi name. Some screenshots were retaken after the 18 October 2026 patch (version CPH2709_16.0.5.1201(EX01C10P02)).
