Abu Bakar Saadat

Abu Bakar Saadat is an RF validation and test automation engineer with more than four years of experience testing LTE and 5G modems on commercial smartphones, in the lab and on live networks. He works as a quality assurance and field test engineer in 5G modem device validation at Qualcomm. Before that he validated Google Pixel phones as a quality assurance engineer (LTTS, Munich) and worked on LTE/5G modem validation as a project engineer at Qualcomm in Frankfurt. He builds test automation in Python with Pytest, Playwright and Appium.

Abu Bakar Saadat writes the guides on How To, Simply. He has a master's degree in Electrical and Information Technology from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. Saadat Rafiq publishes the site and is responsible for its content. Both names are on each guide because a reader should know who stands behind the steps and whom to tell when one is wrong.

How the guides are made

  • Screens from real devices. New guides show our own screenshots: an iPhone 14 Pro and an iPhone 17e with iOS 27.0.1, a Samsung Galaxy A57 (One UI 8.5, newer pages One UI 9), a Google Pixel 10a (Android 17), a Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G (HyperOS 3), a OnePlus Nord 5 (OxygenOS 16), an OPPO Reno13 5G (ColorOS 16), a HONOR Magic7 Lite (MagicOS 10), a Nothing Phone (4a) Pro (Nothing OS 4.1), a MacBook Neo with macOS 27.0.1 (older Mac pages: a MacBook Pro with macOS Tahoe 26) and Windows 11 on a Microsoft Cloud PC. Where we have no real screenshot, the step is text only.
  • Labelled. The box at the top of each guide names the device, the system version of its screenshots, how many steps have a real screenshot and when the guide was checked.
  • Looked at, not claimed. We photograph where a setting is and what the screen says. Where we did not try something, such as a reset, we do not say we did; the step then relies on the maker's instructions, which are linked.
  • Checked against the maker. Every step, rule and number is compared with the maker's or platform's own help pages where they exist (Apple, Samsung, Google, Microsoft, Xiaomi, OPPO, HONOR, Nothing and others), or with the authority itself. Where no official page covers a step, we say so: the guide counts its official and other sources, and what we saw on our own device is marked as ours. The sources are linked at the end of the guide with the date the links were checked.
  • Private details hidden. Names, phone numbers, network names and similar details on our screens are blurred before publication.

When something changes

When a system update moves or renames a setting, we take new screenshots and change the guide. The date at the top then says Updated, and a line under it says what changed. If nothing changed, the guide keeps the date it was first published.

Corrections

If a step does not match what you see, write to hello@howtosimply.com with the guide and what your screen shows. We check it against our device and the maker's instructions and correct the guide. Corrections are listed the same way, in the What changed line, and all changes are collected on one page: What changed in our guides.
