Step by step

1. 

   Open Mobile network

   Open Settings and tap Mobile network; it is below Bluetooth.

   Done

2. 

   Tap Personal hotspot

   Below SIM management.

   Done

3. 

   Turn on Personal hotspot

   Check Device name and Password below first.

   Done

If you do not see this option

• Some rows missing? HONOR says the hotspot settings vary by device; if your phone does not show an item, it does not support that feature. Ours had no Data limit row under More. Source: Share Your Network Connection with Other Devices
• Looking for USB or Bluetooth sharing? Tap More. Ours listed Security (WPA2-Personal), AP band (2,4 GHz), Auto-disable after 5 minutes of inactivity, Hide personal hotspot, Bluetooth tethering and USB tethering. Source: Share Your Network Connection with Other Devices

  

• Quick way in? HONOR says to touch and hold the Personal hotspot icon in the notification panel to open these settings. Source: My personal Wi-Fi hotspot does not work

If this does not work

• Other devices can't find or join it? HONOR says to move closer, use a name with only letters and digits, and set More, AP band to 2.4 GHz (turn the hotspot off first). Source: My personal Wi-Fi hotspot does not work
• Connected but no internet? HONOR says the hotspot only works if mobile data works on the phone, and some carrier plans do not allow hotspot sharing; ask your carrier. Source: My personal Wi-Fi hotspot does not work
• Hotspot switched itself off? Auto-disable was set to 5 minutes of inactivity on ours, so it turns off when nothing is connected.

Good to know

To share a Wi-Fi network instead, share Wi-Fi.

To save battery, turn on Power saving mode.
