Open Settings and search for Flash notification (it is part of Accessibility). Turn on Camera flash notification to flash the camera light, or Screen flash notification to flash the screen, when a notification arrives or an alarm sounds.

About this guide

Flash notifications help when the phone is on silent, in a loud place, or if you are hard of hearing. We only looked at these screens on our phone and changed nothing.

The screenshots are from a Samsung Galaxy A57 5G with One UI 8.5 and Android 16, in Dark mode. Other Galaxy phones on One UI 8 use the same menus; on older One UI versions a few names and positions differ.

Good to know

The camera light flash works best with the phone face down; the screen flash with the phone face up.

In short: Settings, search Flash notification: Camera flash notification or Screen flash notification on; Preview to test.
