Step by step

1. 

   Open Home screen settings

   Settings, Home screen & style. Home screen settings is below Fingerprint style.

   Done

2. 

   Tap Layout

   Ours read 4×6. Lock layout and Auto-fill icons sit just below it.

   Done

3. 

   Pick a grid

   A sheet opens with the two grids, 4×6 and 5×6. Apply stayed grey on ours while the current grid was selected.

   Done

4. 

   Pick 5×6 and tap Apply

   The page notes: Home screen will be reloaded after you apply the selected layout option.

   Done

5. 

   Check the Home screen

   With 5×6, ours fitted five icons in a row. The dock kept four icons, and the AI Suggestions card kept its four-app size and moved below the first row.

   Done

If you do not see this option

• Back to 4×6? Pick 4×6 and Apply again; ours went back to four in a row.

  

• Same route on a foldable? HONOR's Magic V5 tip uses Settings, Home screen & style, Home screen settings, and suggests 4×6 for Layout with Dual-screen layout on. Source: Dual-Screen Layout

If this does not work

• Apply is grey? On ours Apply stayed grey while the current layout was selected. Pick the other grid and it turns on.
• AI Suggestions card moved? After going back to 4×6, our AI Suggestions card showed different apps: Play Store had left it and the heart app was back.
• Text too small? See change font size.

About this guide

The screenshots are from our HONOR Magic7 Lite, the European model BRP-NX1M, with MagicOS 10.0 and Android 16 (build 10.0.0.169(C430E7R2P1)), in Dark mode. Ours used 4×6. We tried 5×6 and set it back.
