About this guide

Our Redmi uses Gboard as its keyboard. Its own settings change the keys, the layout and the colours.

The screenshots are from our Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G with Xiaomi HyperOS 3.0.308.0 and Android 16, in Light mode. Gboard was set to English (UK). We only opened these screens and changed nothing.

Good to know

On a Pixel the same Gboard pages open from a different path: how to change Gboard settings on a Google Pixel.

To change the phone's own language, see how to change the language on a Xiaomi phone.

In short: Settings, Additional settings, Languages and input, Manage keyboards, Gboard: Preferences, Theme.
