How to change the number format on an iPhone

Open Settings, tap General, then Language & Region, then Number Format, and tap the format you want. The four choices differ in the marks used for thousands and decimals: 1,234,567.89, 1.234.567,89, or a space for thousands with a full stop or a comma for decimals.

Whether one thousand two hundred and a half is written 1,200.5 or 1.200,5 depends on the country. The iPhone follows its region, and lets you choose the format yourself.

Step by step

Open Settings and tap General
General is the first row of the first group in the main Settings list.

Tap Language & Region
It is in the second group of the General page, below Keyboard.

Tap Number Format
It is the last row of the group and shows the current format at the right.

Tap a format
Four formats are listed, each shown with the same example number. The tick shows the active one.
Good to know
The Region Format Example at the bottom of the Language & Region page shows how time, date, currency and numbers will look with your settings.
