Short answer

Open Settings, tap Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom and tap Analytics & Improvements. Switch off Share iPhone Analytics. With an Apple Watch paired, the switch is called Share iPhone & Watch Analytics and covers both.

iPhone Analytics sends Apple reports about hardware and system details, performance, and how you use the device and its apps. Apple says none of it identifies you personally. Sharing is optional, and switching it off changes nothing about how the iPhone works.

The screenshots show iOS 26.5 on an iPhone 17. On older versions the rows have the same names, with a slightly different look.

Step by step

  1. iPhone screen: Open Settings and tap Privacy & Security

Scroll down in Settings to find it, below Screen Time.

  2. iPhone screen: Scroll to the bottom and tap Analytics & Improvements

It is in the last group of the page, above Apple Advertising.

In the picture it is already off. From now on the iPhone no longer sends the daily reports.

Analytics Data on the same page lists the report files stored on the iPhone. They are technical logs and can be read or shared from here, for example when a support agent asks for one.

Good to know

To keep the analytics but leave out your location: open Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services, System Services and switch off iPhone Analytics.

Advertising is a separate setting. Apple Advertising is the next row on the Privacy & Security page.

Apps from other companies have their own switch: how to stop apps from tracking you on iPhone.

In short: Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements, Share iPhone Analytics off.
