How to hide your IP address from trackers in Safari on an iPhone

Open Settings, tap Apps, then Safari, scroll to Privacy & Security, tap Hide IP Address and choose From Trackers. Safari then hides your IP address from known trackers, which otherwise can use it to work out roughly where you are.

Every website you open sees the IP address of your connection. The Hide IP Address page on the iPhone explains why that matters: the address can be used to determine personal information, such as your location. Safari can keep it from known trackers. This costs nothing and needs no extra app.
The screenshots show iOS 26.5 on an iPhone 17. On older versions the rows have the same names, with a slightly different look.
Step by step

Open Settings and tap Apps
Apps is near the bottom of the main Settings list.

Tap Safari
The apps are in alphabetical order, so Safari is under S.

Scroll to Privacy & Security and tap Hide IP Address
The row shows the current state at the right. In the picture it says Off.

Tap From Trackers
The tick moves from Off to From Trackers.

Check the other switches in the group
Prevent Cross-Site Tracking and Fraudulent Website Warning are on at first and should stay on. Require Passcode to Unlock Private Browsing asks for your passcode before your private tabs are shown.
Good to know
This hides the address from known trackers, not from the websites you visit or from your internet provider.
