How to use Do not disturb on a Samsung Galaxy phone

Open Settings, Notifications, Do not disturb and switch it on, or tap Do not disturb in the quick panel. Under Schedule, set it to turn on automatically, for example while you sleep. Allowed during Do not disturb lets chosen calls, messages, apps and alarms through.

Do not disturb mutes calls, notifications and other alerts, except the ones you allow. Alarms still ring if you leave them allowed.
The screenshots are from a Samsung Galaxy A57 5G with One UI 8.5 and Android 16. Other Galaxy phones on One UI 8 use the same menus; on older One UI versions a few names and positions differ.
Step by step

Open Notifications
Open Settings and tap Notifications.

Open Do not disturb
Tap Do not disturb.

Switch it on
Tap the Do not disturb switch. For how long? decides when it turns off again.

Add a schedule
Under Schedule, switch on the Sleeping schedule or tap Add schedule to create your own days and times.

Choose what may still come through
Under Allowed during Do not disturb, set Calls and messages, App notifications, and Alarms and sounds. Allow your favourite contacts so an urgent call still rings.
Use the quick panel
Swipe down from the top with two fingers and tap Do not disturb to turn it on or off. Touch and hold it to open its settings.
