How to change Screen mode (Vivid or Natural) on a Samsung Galaxy
By Saadat Rafiq · 2 min read · 4 steps · Updated 5 October 2026 · ▶ Video demo
Open Settings, Display, Screen mode and choose Vivid or Natural. Vivid gives stronger, more saturated colours; Natural looks closer to real life. With Vivid, the White balance slider makes the screen cooler or warmer.

Step by step

Open Display
Open Settings and tap Display.
Tap Screen mode
Scroll down the Display page to Screen mode.

Choose Vivid or Natural
The preview above changes as you tap. Natural is the better choice if you edit photos.

Adjust White balance
Drag towards Cool for a bluer screen or Warm for a yellower one. Advanced settings below adjusts red, green and blue separately.
About this guide
If photos look too bright and saturated, or a new Galaxy looks different from your old phone, the Screen mode is usually why. Ours was set to Vivid, with the White balance slider in the middle.
The screenshots are from a Samsung Galaxy A57 5G with One UI 8.5 and Android 16. Other Galaxy phones on One UI 8 use the same menus; on older One UI versions a few names and positions differ. We only looked at these screens on our phone and changed nothing.
Good to know
A yellow tint at night usually comes from Eye comfort shield, not the Screen mode: how to turn on Eye comfort shield on a Samsung Galaxy phone.
In short: Settings, Display, Screen mode, Vivid or Natural; White balance with Vivid.
