How to turn off keyboard clicks on an iPhone

Short answer

Open Settings, tap General, then Keyboard, and switch off Sound. The keyboard then makes no click when you type. On other versions the switch is under Settings, Sounds & Haptics, Keyboard Feedback.

The iPhone keyboard can play a click for every key press. To type quietly without silencing everything else, switch off only the keyboard sound.

The screenshots show iOS 26.5 on an iPhone 17. On older versions the rows have the same names, with a slightly different look.

Step by step

  1. iPhone screen: Open Settings and tap General
