How to make the menu bar text bigger on a Mac

Short answer

Open System Settings, click Accessibility, then Display, and set Menu bar size to Large. Log out and log in again to see the change. Default sets it back.

The menu bar at the top of the screen has its own text size, separate from the rest of macOS. There are two sizes, Default and Large.

Step by step

    Click the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen and choose System Settings.

    Click Accessibility, then Display

    Accessibility is in the sidebar on the left. Display is in the Vision group on the right. You may need to scroll down in the sidebar.

    It is in the Text group. In the picture, Default is selected. The note under it says some apps or system features may need a log out for the change to take effect.

    Click the Apple menu and choose Log Out. After you log in, the menu bar uses the larger text.
