    How it works

    HEIC is the format in which iPhones save photos. Many Windows programs, websites and upload forms cannot open it.

    PNG keeps every pixel exactly, so the file is much larger than the HEIC photo. Choose JPG unless a form or program asks for PNG.

    Converting takes a few seconds per photo, because the photo is decoded on your device. Several photos are returned together in one ZIP file. Live Photos and bursts are saved as their first picture. The original files are not changed.

    To make the iPhone save JPG in future, open Settings, Camera, Formats and choose Most Compatible.
