Open the FaceTime app on the iPhone, tap Create Link and send the link by message or email. The other person opens the link in Chrome or Edge, types a name and taps Join. You then let them into the call on your iPhone.
There is no FaceTime app for Android or Windows. But since iOS 15, an iPhone can create a FaceTime link, and anyone with a current browser can join the call through it, with picture and sound.
Step by step
Create a link on the iPhone
Open the FaceTime app and tap Create Link. A share sheet opens.
Send the link
Choose Messages, Mail, WhatsApp or Copy, and send the link to the people you want to talk to.
Start the call yourself
Tap the new FaceTime Link entry in the FaceTime app and tap Join.
The other person opens the link
On the Android phone or Windows PC, the link opens in the browser. Apple requires the latest version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
They enter a name and join
They type their name, tap Continue, allow the browser to use the camera and microphone, and tap Join.
Let them in
On your iPhone, a notice shows that someone is waiting. Tap the tick next to their name to let them into the call.
Good to know
In the browser, the other person can mute the microphone, switch the camera off, change between front and back camera and use full screen. SharePlay and screen sharing do not work on the web.
A link stays valid until you delete it. Anyone who has it can ask to join, but nobody gets in until you accept them.
FaceTime links are not supported in China mainland.
