You’re using Snapchat like you do every day and all of a sudden you hear a song you love. But, by the time you close Snapchat and you open Shazam, the song is over. Ugh! Now you have to wait until you hear it again and who knows when that is going to be.
You will be happy to know that Shazam and Snapchat are now working hand in hand. The next time you hear that song you will be able to quickly identify it, even if you’re using Snapchat at the time, but how?
How to Use Shazam While Using Snapchat
Using Shazam inside Snapchat is very easy, even though it sounds impossible. If you want this to work, you need to be in camera mode, as if you were ready to snap a snap.
You should see that huge empty circle at the bottom and when that song plays long-press anywhere on the screen. It doesn’t matter where, just as long as you’re not pressing a button.
You will now see a ripple animation, and then your phone is going to start vibrating. Only let go when your phone starts to vibrate, not before. After that, you will see the name of the song and the artist.
As you can see in the image above you can either get more information, or you can dismiss the message. You get access to info such as lyrics, play a Vevo clip, preview audio or share.
That’s all you have to do to Shazam a song while using Snapchat. This great feature didn’t come alone since it was released with the Snapchat Group Chat feature as well, let’s see how that works.
How to Use Snapchat Group Chat Feature
Group Chat is enabled when you send a snap or when you start a new one. The friends that are in the group will appear at the bottom of your display. You can easily switch from a group chat to a one on one chat with a simple tap. Simply tap on the name of the person you want a one on one with. The feature is called Quick Chat, just in case you were wondering.
If you’re the one creating the group you can give the group any name you want to. Don’t worry about knowing how to use Group chats because it works the same as the regular Snapchat conversations. You can still use the video notes, stickers, Bitmoji and everything else.
Don’t forget that the group messages can only be opened and re-played once by each person in the group. If you don’t open your snap within 24 hours, it’s going to disappear.
Don’t forget that there are two new features you can enjoy on Snapchat. First, there is the scissors tool that lets you cut out a piece of a snap and use it as a sticker. Then there is the Paintbrush feature that you can use on videos and images.
Little by little Snapchat is adding fantastic features that are going to keep us using the app for hours on end. No complaints here, just as long as their fun and useful features, they can add as many as they want. Are you happy about the new features?
