What is it with rounded corners that just make your Android device look good? It’s a subtle change but one that makes a huge difference and makes your Android device look even more sophisticated. It’s getting so popular that even the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6 will have rounded corners when they come out.
When these phones arrive, they will cost a pretty penny. So, if you don’t want to break the bank and buy these for rounded corners, just install the Cornerfly app from Google Play.
How to Give Your Android Device’s Display Rounded Corners
If you haven’t installed the Cornerfly app yet, you can go ahead and do it now. When you first install the app, it will ask you to grant it some permissions such as to enable System overlay and Accessibility service.
Scroll down and then enable Cornerfly. Once it’s enabled hit the back button on your phone until you’re back at the app. Don’t forget to tap on the check mark at the bottom and you’re good to go.
In Cornerfly’s main menu, you’re going to see a switch at the top right that you need to make sure is on. Once that’s toggled on, you need to take care of your device’s on-screen navigation buttons (if it uses them).
Cornerfly won’t automatically round the corners of the navigation bar. It will only round the corners of the foreground app that is right above the navigation bar.
If you have an app that uses a black navigation bar, this is going to look absolutely fantastic. Not everyone’s Android works this way so if you have apps that color-match the navigation bar; it’s best that Cornerfly rounds the navigation bar instead.
To set this last part up, go to the applications Setting by simply opening up the app. This is going to make things look better because you’re going to round the corners for an app that color-match the navigation bar. The app will not round any soft keys you may have added with another app.
How to Give Your Navigation Bar Rounded Corners
After tapping on the Applications option, you’re going to see a list of apps. Scroll through them and tap on the Overlay Navigationbar for any of the apps that use a color-matched navigation bar.
If all you’re apps use it, you can tap on the hamburger icon with the check mark. A pop-up window should appear at the bottom of your display. Tap on Enabled to toggle it on and then check mark the Overlay Navigation bar option. This will save you time and do it to all the apps at once.
Once you’re finished with all the above steps, all that is left is for you to admire your beautifully rounded corners. Some users might not think it’s worth downloading an app just to get rounded corners, but it is for me.
Sometimes the little changes can just give your device that special something. Look at it this way; you’re enjoying a detail that the Galaxy S8 and the LG G6 are going to have, right now! There is one detail to keep in mind.
To curve the corners, even more, you will need to pay like $1 for that. If you think it’s worth it, go for it. Do you think that you’re going to give the app a try? Leave a comment and let me know.
