Ever since iOS 9 came along, users have been able to enjoy features such as Slide Over and Split screen multitasking. Thanks to Split screen multitasking you can open two apps side by side. With Slide Over you can use another app without closing the one, you’re currently using.
The downside to this great feature is that it will only work on a limited number of iPhones and iPads. If you’re an iPhone user and want to enjoy Split Screen Multitasking, your iPhone will need to be Jailbroken.
How to Get Split Screen Multitasking on iPhone
Go ahead and open Cydia and look for orgone in the search tab. This tweak is hosted by BigBoss repo, so it’s added automatically in Cydia.
Once you’ve found it, tap on Install and then on Confirm. To complete the installation process, you’ll need to tap on Restart SpringBoard option. After this, your iPhone should reboot, and Gorgone should be installed correctly.
You’ll need to configure Gorgone’s settings. This can easily be done by going to Settings > Gorgone > Activate Enable Rotation. This feature turns on rotations in the majority of the applications, home screen included.
Keep in Mind that Enable Lock Screen rotation is only for iOS 9 and it won’t work on iOS 10. Once you’re inside the app, swipe left from the middle-right of the edge of your display. You should now see all the apps you’ve installed on your iPhone.
If you type on and one of then, it will slide over and come into focus. To switch to a previous app, you can simply swipe back. So, next time you’re using an app and need to search for something on the web, you won’t have to close the app you’re using.
How to Gain Access to Split Screen Mode
To gain Access to Split Screen Mode, you’ll need to rotate your iPhone to landscape mode. With any app open, swipe left from the middle-right edge of your display to get into Slide Over mode.
Choose any app and tapping on the small drag bar in the middle will place the apps side by side. You’ll now be able to use the, at the same time.
If you want to see the list of installed apps again, just swipe down on the white arrow pointing down. Whenever you want to come out of Split Screen mode, simply slide the unwanted app away by using the slide bar you’ll find between the two apps.
One minor issue you might come across is that it enables rotation across all the apps you have installed. Some apps didn’t look so good because of this but it’s nothing annoying.
If you try Gorgone and see it’s not what you’re looking for, you can just tap on Disable. If you want to completely get rid of it, you can also uninstall it from Cydia.
