The only tool you’re going to need to block shutdown on your Windows 10 computer is Shutdown blocker. Not only can you block shutdown, but you’ll also be able to block logoff, restart and other related commands.

The tool is easy to use, so don’t worry if you’re not tech-savvy. To get started you’ll need to launch the program as an administrator and check, ¨When blocking, also intercept shutdown.exe¨Click on Hide and the program will add an icon to your system tray.

When you enter the shutdown.exe command or even the musnotification.exe, the command prompt will move to the next line.  Shutdown.exe will no longer do anything, whether it’s launched from a process or if it’s launched manually.

Not to worry, you’ll still be able to restart or manually shut down our computer the usual way. For example, you can still use the Start menu to shut down as usual. You will get a warning that the program is running but just click on ¨shut down anyway¨ and your computer will shut down.

ShutdownBlocker will also offer you a right-click ¨Allow shutdown¨option on its system tray icon. If at any time you want to undo the effects of the program, reboot your computer, launch it as an administrator and click on Allow > Quit.
