How to Download Pictures and Videos from Instagram {Android, iOS, Mac, Windows}

If you use Instagram, then you probably know that all the pictures you upload to the social network will fit into a local folder, but what happens to the ones that we share with others? The Instagram App offers us the option to download then, but fortunately, there are other methods we can turn to make a copy of the memories you don’t want to lose.

Some users might choose IFTTT, but the majority of the users decide to go with an application that will do the work for them. Sounds like an app I would also choose since the more I save, the better, right?

Save Your Instagram Pictures and Video in One Step

The first thing we have to do is download an app called InstaSaver.  It’s a free app that is available for download for Android, but if you’re on iOS, you can go for SaveGram that is also free on iTunes. After explaining how to do it on Android, I will explain how to download videos and pictures from your Instagram account if you are using iOS.

If you’re using InstaSaver, the first thing you will need to do is copy the Instagram link and paste in the area that you can see in the image below.

Now, you will need to go to the picture or video that you want to download from Instagram and tap on the three dots. Select Copy URL and immediately go to the InstaSaver app and paste the link where I showed you before.

Once you have copied the link and pasted it, don’t forget to save what you have done. Copying and pasting the link is the manual way to save your Instagram videos and pictures, but if you don’t want to do this every single time you see something you like you can always toggle on the InstaSaver. To use the InstaSaver toggle the circle like in the image below and every time you tap on a picture see you, it will be automatically saved. I tested this out, and it works just fine.

How to Save Pictures and Videos from Instagram (iOS)

Not everyone uses Android (obviously), so if you’re an iOS user, and you want to save your Instagram pictures and videos, try Repost for Instagram.  After downloading the app, you will be taken to the login page where you will need to log in with your Instagram information.

Once you have signed in you will see five options at the bottom. You will see My Feed (the home icon), Favorites, Popular, Your Profile and settings. Select the My Feed icon and find the picture you want to save.  In the bottom right-hand corner, you will find the share icon, tap on that and select the Save or repost button.

Once you have done that the picture will be saved to your camera roll, and you can forget about jailbreaking your iOS device.

How to Save Instagram Videos and Pictures for Windows and Mac

If you mainly browse through Instagram while using either your Mac or your Windows computer, then you will need to visit Savedeo. But first, log into your Instagram account and locate the video or picture you want to download. Now, you will need to copy the URL, so make sure you are copying correctly or you might get an error message.

Once you’ve copied the link go to Savedeo and paste the link in the Download button and select the download button.

Once the download has finished, you will see a download link on the right side. Click on the link and the download will begin.  Keep in mind that if you’re using Chrome, the download process will be opened in another tab so you will need to right click and select Save Link As to save the video or picture to your computer.

As you can see downloading a video or picture from Instagram is nothing out of this world and can easily be done. Now, you will be able to see your video or picture even if you don’t have an Internet connection. How do you save your Instagram picture’s and videos? Let me know in the comments.
