How to Create a Reminder Using Geofencing

Don’t you just hate it when you leave home without that one thing you really needed to take with you? You even created a reminder in the morning but since you were so sleepy that reminder didn’t last very long.

There is an app called Don’t Leave it! That is only available for iOS, sorry Android. The app is also free, so you won’t have to worry about trying to get a refund on your paid iOS apps. Who knows, some apps usually start by only being available on one platform and shortly after reach both iOS and Android.

How to Create Reminders Using Geofencing

The app is pretty easy to use, and I have to admit that it’s hilarious that someone would need a reminder not to forget their kids. But hey, if you need a reminder not to forget your children before you leave, there it is.

How to Set a Reminder with geofencing - create a reminder

Just swipe until you see the item that you don’t want to forget. You will have quite a few items to choose from such as:

  • Charger
  • Clothes
  • Contacts
  • Credit Card
  • Earphones
  • Dinner
  • Document
  • Gift
  • Backpack
  • Beer
  • Hat
  • Jacket
  • Laptop
  • Passport
  • Medicine
  • Lunch
  • Sunglasses
  • Water and more!

Then you need to set your alert distance. This can easily be done by sliding the circle under the 30 steps options. Move it until you see the amount of steps you want the app to remind you.

When you’re done with that step, tap on the orange button that says Set Reminder. You’ll get an Alert confirmation, tap on OK and that’s it! You can even add tags and notes, but that’s optional.

If you head on over to settings, you can customize the alert sound. You have quite a few to choose from, but the downside is that the app doesn’t give you a preview of the alert sound. With the preview, you choose the one you like from the very beginning.

If you ever need to contact the developer for anything, they have a Contact Us option where you can either send suggestions or complaints. Thanks to this app, you will never leave home without that object that you’re always forgetting.

Just make sure to actually go and get and or else you might forget again. Do you think that you will give the app a try? Leave a comment and let me know.
