And update the image:
Although the Spanish manufacturer BQ, confirms for us the update is still in the air if they undertake to bring the new version of the Linux Kernel and the System’s Treble turn it on, as this is a measure optional for those devices that suffer from such an update.
Easy? Well, this change is likely to be more aggressive if it applies, the requirements so you will not be so easy but not impossible, you just have to look for solutions, but of course also if the chip manufacturer is willing to send such an update.
We have spoken with BQ and we have transfer the following information is important:
The updates that we will release it to the Android 8 for current devices, are not compatible with Project treble knobs. Project treble knobs involves a change in the partitions on the device, so that it would be necessary to perform a Hard Reset. Even so, all the users will have the full Android 8.0 in the official version and with all features included.
This would be solved the doubt that we did, but we also must have an observation and that is that the terminals BQ can be update via OTA as the software that they have already used on several occasions, the user could understand in this case that will do a Hard Reset, but the software to make the copy of user data so that when you install it again to have it.
